Everything you need to know about independent living with D4

We've Got Answers

Independent living housing provides safe, structured accommodations for adults who need stable housing. Residents can choose private or shared rooms in a shared home, with access to common areas like the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. It's ideal for individuals who can live independently while benefiting from a supportive community environment.
Our housing is available to adults (18+) who are seeking stable, affordable housing. This includes individuals receiving Social Security benefits (SSI/SSDI), people transitioning from shelters or temporary housing, those rebuilding after difficult life circumstances, and anyone in need of structured community living. We review each application individually.
Rent is affordable and designed to work within most benefit payment schedules. The exact amount depends on the room and location. Contact us at (754) 328-9209 or apply online to discuss pricing that fits your budget. Utilities are typically included.
Each room comes furnished with the basics — a bed, storage space, and access to shared common areas including kitchen, bathroom, and living room. Utilities (electricity, water) are included in rent. Residents are responsible for their own food, personal items, and keeping their space clean.
Fill out our online application with your personal information, current living situation, and emergency contact. Our team will review your application and contact you within 48 hours. You can also call us directly at (754) 328-9209 to start the process over the phone.
Yes. Many of our residents use SSI, SSDI, or other benefit payments to cover their rent. Our pricing is structured to be accessible for individuals on fixed incomes. We'll work with you to find a payment arrangement that fits your situation.
We maintain a safe, respectful environment for all residents. Basic rules include: keeping common areas clean, respecting other residents' space and privacy, no illegal substances on the property, quiet hours in the evening, and attending periodic house meetings. Full house rules are provided at move-in. These rules exist to protect everyone's comfort and safety.
We do not provide meals directly, but residents have full kitchen access to prepare their own food. We can connect residents with SNAP (food assistance) programs and local food pantry resources if needed. Many residents coordinate with each other on shared meals as well.
Yes. All residents sign a housing agreement that outlines the terms of residency, rent amount, house rules, and expectations. This protects both you and D4. Agreements are typically month-to-month, giving you flexibility. The full agreement is reviewed with you before move-in.
Visitors are allowed during reasonable hours with advance notice to management. Overnight guests require prior approval. This policy exists to maintain safety and respect for all residents in the shared living environment.
We ask for at least 30 days' written notice before moving out. This allows us to prepare the room for the next resident and handle any final accounting. If you need to leave due to an emergency, contact management and we'll work with you on a reasonable timeline.
